The first thing you need is a TV that works with 3D. The high-definition TVs from the past few years may or may not be able to do that. You need a new version of HDTV to be able to watch in 3D.
As for glasses, they may come included with your purchase of a new 3D HDTV, but you might want to purchase additional sets depending on how many viewers you expect at once.
Next, you’ll need a new HDMI cable, HDMI 1.4. This cable connects your TV to your cable box or blu-ray player. And you'll also need a blu-ray player that’s capable of decoding the 3D digits on the blu-ray discs.
Whether you choose a plasma screen TV or an LCD TV, you'll enjoy excellent high definition picture quality when viewing 3D movies, and video games or over-the-air programs that are currently in development.
